Occipital Nerve Blocks in Conley, Georgia for crash-related head pain

Occipital nerve blocks focus on pain that follows the course of the occipital nerves. Patients may ask about this option after a collision causes headaches, neck pain, or tenderness near the back of the skull.

The key decision is fit. Our team reviews the crash history, symptoms, physical findings, and related injuries before discussing an injection. A nerve block may not suit pain that comes from a different structure, so the evaluation matters.

This Conley service differs from a broad pain consultation because it answers a focused treatment question. Patients also receive detailed medical documentation that can support ongoing care and attorney coordination when needed.

  • Explain where the pain starts and where it travels.
  • Bring medical records from the auto accident when available.
  • Share prior injections, medicines, and relevant treatment history.
  • Ask which findings support a nerve block.
  • Confirm how the procedure fits the broader injury plan.

Service Overview

Occipital nerve blocks are injections near the occipital nerves that may help manage pain at the back of the head and upper neck.

  • They differ from epidural steroid injections and facet joint injections because they target nerves linked with head and upper-neck pain.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this care for patients in Conley as part of Metro Atlanta auto accident injury treatment.

What patients get from occipital nerve block care

A focused treatment decision

The visit centers on the occipital nerves, the pain pattern, and the injury findings. This service is the wrong fit when the evaluation points to another pain source.

Medical review before injection

Our team reviews the crash history and relevant records before discussing a procedure. That review helps place the injection within the wider injury plan.

Board-certified pain care

Board-certified pain management physicians provide interventional care for motor vehicle collision injuries. We also build personalized treatment plans around each patient's findings.

When this service is the right fit

A patient in Conley may have headaches and upper-neck pain after a collision, yet the symptoms may involve more than one structure. We compare the pain pattern with the exam before discussing a nerve block, then document whether another injection or evaluation better fits.

Process

How our team plans an occipital nerve injection

1

Review the collision injury

We discuss the crash, symptoms, prior care, and records that describe the head and neck injury.

2

Match symptoms to the nerve pattern

The physician examines the pain location and related findings to decide whether the occipital nerves fit the treatment question.

3

Explain the injection solution

We explain the role of local anesthetic, corticosteroid medication, and other planned ingredients before treatment is considered.

4

Document the treatment plan

Our team records the findings and explains how the injection fits with other interventional care.

How targeted injections differ by pain source

These options address different suspected pain sources, so the examination guides the choice.

Tracy checked me in. Tony triaged me and Dr Scott took care of me. They made me feel welcome and comfortable from start to finish. I don't think I've ever had a doctor's visit this WONDERFUL! I barely felt a thing and as a person who is terribly afraid of needles, they took all my fears away and provided an excellent experience. Tony plays your favorite music during the procedure and it lasts about one song. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!!

Questions patients ask about occipital nerve injections

What medications are used in occipital nerve blocks?

Corticosteroid medication may be combined with a local anesthetic in the injection solution. The treating physician selects the plan after reviewing the injury and symptoms.

  • Local anesthetic may numb the treatment area.
  • Anti-inflammatory drugs may address inflammation around the painful nerve.
  • The medical record explains the planned treatment and findings.

Premier Injury Specialists discusses the medication plan before care.

How does the doctor decide if this injection fits my pain?

The pain pattern, examination findings, and accident history guide the treatment decision. Headaches near the back of the skull may fit, but another source can require different care.

Our team reviews prior treatment and related neck injuries before recommending a plan. Patients receive an explanation of the findings, the injection's purpose, and other options that may fit the condition.

Which records should I bring after an auto accident for Occipital Nerve Blocks?

Medical records from the collision help the physician connect symptoms with earlier findings. Bring imaging reports, visit notes, medication lists, and information about prior injections when available.

Our team can also work with attorneys who refer clients and coordinate documentation. Patients should share changes in symptoms and any medicine concerns during the evaluation.

Can I schedule an evaluation without a referral in Conley?

Yes, most patients can schedule an evaluation without a referral. The first visit reviews the accident, symptoms, records, and possible treatment paths.

Same-day evaluations are often available. Our practice serves Conley and nearby communities across Metro Atlanta, and attorneys may refer clients directly for injury evaluation and documentation.

Why might another injection be a better fit?

Another injection may fit when the examination points to a joint, spinal nerve, or epidural pain source. Occipital nerve blocks focus on nerves linked with pain at the back of the head.

Our team may discuss facet joint injections, medial branch blocks, epidural steroid injections, or other care when the findings support them. The evaluation sets the treatment direction.

What makes the price different for this medication plan?

The treatment plan, evaluation needs, records, and billing arrangement can change the cost. We don't quote a business price without reviewing the patient's circumstances.

Free consultations are available. MedPay or an attorney lien may apply to eligible auto accident treatment, and our team explains the available billing path before care proceeds.
