Why does back pain keep happening after an auto accident?

Facet joint irritation, disc injury, nerve pain, and soft-tissue strain can all cause ongoing back pain after a crash. A focused examination helps separate these causes. Pain that worsens, spreads, or limits movement deserves medical review. Premier Injury Specialists uses the evaluation to decide whether facet joint injections or another treatment better fits the findings.

Facet Joint Injections in Lovejoy, Georgia for Collision-Related Pain

Facet joint injections focus on pain that may come from the small joints behind the spine. These joints help guide movement, and a collision can irritate them along with nearby muscles or discs.

The main buyer decision is whether the pain pattern fits facet joint treatment. Our team reviews the crash history, symptoms, physical findings, and available records before discussing an injection.

This page focuses on what happens during the procedure, including medication, imaging guidance, and local anesthetic. The injection is not the right treatment for every neck or back injury, so the evaluation comes first.

  • Bring medical records from the auto accident when available.
  • Describe where pain starts and where it travels.
  • Tell the care team about current medicines and prior procedures.
  • Ask which findings support facet joint treatment.
  • Discuss how documentation may support an auto accident claim.

The staff were super friendly and efficient with my back injections. They made me feel safe and I made a great connection with the receptionist. I was actually surprised by the low level of pain. I’ve had back injections before that were very painful, but these injections felt like a little pinch. Would definitely Recommend this facility.

Questions patients ask about facet joint injections

For Facet Joint Injections, what happens during a facet joint injection?

Steroid medication is placed near the targeted facet joint after the site is prepared and reviewed. The provider may use local anesthetic, fluoroscopy guidance, and contrast dye during the procedure. Premier Injury Specialists explains each step before treatment begins. The medical record then documents the findings and the plan for follow-up care.

How does the doctor decide whether this injection fits?

The physical exam and pain pattern help determine whether facet joints may contribute to symptoms. The review includes the collision history, movement limits, tenderness, and available medical records. Disc problems, nerve irritation, or other injuries may point toward a different treatment. Our team explains that fit before recommending an injection.

When scheduling Facet Joint Injections, which records should I bring after an auto accident?

Auto accident records, prior imaging, medication lists, and treatment notes help the care team assess your condition. Bring the documents you have, even if the record set is incomplete. The evaluation can identify what information matters next. Detailed documentation also helps patients and attorneys follow the injury and treatment plan.

Can I schedule an evaluation without a referral for Facet Joint Injections?

Most patients can schedule an evaluation without a referral. The intake reviews the accident, current symptoms, and available medical records. Same-day evaluations are often available, but appointment availability depends on the practice schedule. Patients can also ask how MedPay or an attorney lien may apply to collision-related care.

Why might a facet injection be the wrong treatment?

A facet injection may be the wrong treatment when another condition better explains the pain. Herniated discs, sciatica, radiculopathy, headaches, and soft-tissue injuries can need different care. The exam and medical history guide that decision. Our team discusses other interventional options when the findings do not fit facet joint pain.

What changes the cost of this procedure for Facet Joint Injections?

The clinical evaluation, records, treatment plan, and procedure needs affect the cost. Premier Injury Specialists offers free consultations, so patients can discuss the expected care before making a treatment decision. MedPay or an attorney lien may support billing in some collision cases. The practice explains the available billing path during intake.
