Medial Branch Blocks in Flovilla for Facet-Related Injury Pain

Medial branch blocks help assess pain that may come from facet joints in the neck or back. These small joints guide spinal movement, and crash forces can irritate them along with discs, muscles, or nerves.

The key decision is whether your symptoms and examination fit a facet-related pattern. Our team reviews your accident history, pain location, movement limits, medical records, and current medicines before discussing the procedure.

This page focuses on preparation for the injection, especially transportation plans, medication review, fasting instructions, and health conditions. The service may not fit pain caused mainly by a herniated disc, nerve compression, or another condition that needs a different treatment path.

  • Confirm who will drive you home after the visit.
  • Bring an accurate list of prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements.
  • Follow the fasting instructions provided for your appointment.
  • Tell the care team about allergies, diabetes, blood-thinning medicine, and other health conditions.
  • Bring accident records and prior imaging when available.

Service Overview

Medial Branch Blocks are targeted injections near small nerves that carry pain signals from facet joints.

  • Unlike epidural steroid injections, these blocks focus on facet-related pain rather than the epidural space around spinal nerves.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this care for eligible auto accident patients from Flovilla and surrounding communities.

Typical costs and sizing

“The second diagnostic procedure may only be performed a minimum of 2 weeks after the initial diagnostic procedure.”

How We Approach Facet-Related Injection Decisions

Preparation before the appointment

We review the ride home, medicines, fasting instructions, and health conditions before the visit. The service may be the wrong fit when symptoms point mainly to disc injury or nerve compression.

Focused injury evaluation

Board-certified pain management physicians assess the pain pattern and related crash injuries before discussing an injection. That review helps match the procedure to the suspected pain source.

Records that support care

Our team brings injury evaluation, interventional treatment, and detailed medical documentation together. Attorneys can coordinate records directly with the practice when they refer clients.

Process

Steps Before and During a Medial Branch Block Visit

1

Review the accident and symptoms

We discuss the crash, pain location, movement limits, prior treatment, and records that may clarify the suspected pain source.

2

Check medicines and health conditions

Our team reviews prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, supplements, allergies, and health conditions that may affect preparation.

3

Confirm fasting instructions

The care team gives appointment-specific fasting guidance and answers questions before the visit.

4

Arrange transportation home

Patients confirm a ride home before treatment so the transportation plan matches the visit instructions.

5

The clinician reviews the suspected pain source, the proposed block, related risks, and the next step in care.

What Preparation Changes Before Facet Nerve Blocks?

A complete medication review helps the care team plan safely around current medicines.

A confirmed ride home helps you follow the visit plan without driving after treatment.

Health condition screening gives the clinician information needed before an injection.

Clear fasting guidance helps you arrive prepared for the planned procedure.

Focused records connect the block to the injury evaluation and future treatment decisions.

Choosing the Right Injection Path

The staff (Tracy) and the medical folks are very nice. They explain everything to you in plain language before you even get started, and once you see doctor (Dr Scott), the assistant (Areyana) is gentle & sweet. They both will walk you through the entire process verbally, as they go and they make sure you are good before you leave as well. Above & beyond when it comes to bedside manner. Just make sure you don't get lost in the Kroger parking lot, listening to GPS. The clinic is inside Arrowhead across the street, behind Subway.

Questions About Preparing for Facet Nerve Blocks

How do I prepare for medial branch blocks?

Transportation plans should include a ride home, and preparation also covers medicines, fasting instructions, and health conditions. Bring your medication list and accident records. Tell the care team about allergies, blood-thinning medicine, diabetes, or other conditions. The clinician will explain the visit plan before treatment.

What should I tell the pain management physician before the visit?

Your full medication list, allergies, health conditions, and prior treatment give the clinician key safety information. Include prescription drugs, over-the-counter pain relievers, and supplements. Records from the accident can also help connect your current symptoms with earlier findings.

Which medicines need review before a facet nerve block?

Prescription medicines, blood thinners, pain relievers, and supplements all need review before treatment. Do not stop a medicine on your own. Share the complete list with our team, and the clinician will explain any instructions that apply to your plan.

When should I arrange a ride home?

A ride home should be arranged before the appointment because the visit plan may affect your ability to drive afterward. Ask the scheduling team what your planned treatment requires. Patients in Flovilla can discuss transportation during the evaluation request.

Why do health conditions matter before an injection?

Health conditions can change preparation and treatment decisions, so the clinician needs them before the injection. Tell us about diabetes, allergies, blood-thinning medicine, infection, pregnancy, or other relevant concerns. That information helps the care team review whether the planned procedure fits.

Can I schedule an evaluation without a referral for Medial Branch Blocks?

Yes, patients can schedule an evaluation without a referral in most cases. The first visit reviews the auto accident, symptoms, records, and possible treatment paths. Attorneys may also refer clients and coordinate medical documentation directly with Premier Injury Specialists.

Does accident-related care use MedPay or an attorney lien?

Accident-related treatment may be billed through MedPay or an attorney lien. The billing path depends on your case and the arrangements discussed with the practice. Bring relevant claim or attorney information so the office can review the process with you.
