Medial Branch Blocks for Auto Accident Pain in Jackson

Medial branch blocks help assess pain that may come from the facet joints in the spine. These joints can become painful after a collision, but similar symptoms may also come from a herniated disc, sciatica, radiculopathy, or soft-tissue injury.

The key decision is whether the pain pattern fits facet-related pain. Our pain management physicians review the injury history, physical findings, and available medical records before recommending a procedure. Imaging may help clarify other causes, but the treatment plan follows the clinical picture.

This page serves patients seeking focused collision-injury care in Jackson and nearby communities. We combine evaluation, interventional treatment, and detailed medical documentation in one practice.

  • Review the body area that hurts and how the pain began after the collision.
  • List all medicines, supplements, and allergies before the consultation.
  • Ask whether fasting instructions apply to the planned procedure.
  • Arrange transportation if the care plan makes driving unsafe.
  • Bring available medical records, imaging reports, and accident-related documents.

Service Overview

Medial branch blocks are injection procedures that place numbing medicine near small nerves linked to facet joints.

  • They differ from epidural steroid injections, which target the space around spinal nerves when nerve-root pain is the concern.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this evaluation and treatment pathway for auto accident patients in Jackson.

How We Approach Medial Branch Block Decisions

Match the procedure to the pain source

We compare the pain pattern with the suspected facet joint source before recommending medial branch blocks. The wrong fit includes symptoms better explained by another condition, such as a herniated disc or nerve-root irritation.

Prepare around your medication list

Medication review comes before procedure planning. Bring every prescription, over-the-counter medicine, and supplement so our providers can give instructions suited to your care.

Plan the trip home

Transportation is part of safe preparation when driving after the procedure may not be appropriate. We discuss this before care so you can make arrangements without last-minute confusion.

Keep the injury record connected

Our board-certified pain management physicians connect the evaluation, treatment plan, and medical documentation to the motor vehicle collision.

How We Prepare You for Medial Branch Blocks

1

Review the collision and symptoms

We record where the pain began, what worsens it, and whether symptoms suggest facet, disc, nerve, or soft-tissue involvement.

2

Check medicines and medical records

We review prescriptions, supplements, allergies, prior treatment, and available imaging or medical records before planning the procedure.

3

Explain fasting instructions

We tell you whether fasting applies to the planned care and explain the instructions in plain language.

4

Arrange transportation plans

We discuss how you will travel home when driving after the procedure may not be appropriate.

5

Confirm the treatment decision

We explain why medial branch blocks fit the suspected pain source or why another service may better match the findings.

The staff (Tracy) and the medical folks are very nice. They explain everything to you in plain language before you even get started, and once you see doctor (Dr Scott), the assistant (Areyana) is gentle & sweet. They both will walk you through the entire process verbally, as they go and they make sure you are good before you leave as well. Above & beyond when it comes to bedside manner. Just make sure you don't get lost in the Kroger parking lot, listening to GPS. The clinic is inside Arrowhead across the street, behind Subway.

Questions About Preparing for Medial Branch Blocks

When preparing for the service call, how do I prepare for medial branch blocks from the first walkthrough onward?

Health conditions determine the preparation plan for medial branch blocks. Bring your full medication list, allergy information, medical records, and imaging reports. Ask about fasting instructions and arrange transportation if driving home may not be safe. Premier Injury Specialists reviews these details before the procedure and explains each instruction clearly.

What medicines should I discuss before the procedure?

Medication lists help our providers plan care safely. Include prescriptions, pain relievers, blood thinners, vitamins, and supplements, even if you take them only sometimes. Do not stop a medicine on your own. Our team reviews the list and tells you whether any change or special instruction applies.

When do fasting instructions apply to this treatment for Medial Branch Blocks?

Fasting instructions apply only when the planned care requires them. The care plan and medical factors decide whether you should avoid food or drinks before the procedure. Our staff gives you the specific directions during scheduling, so follow those directions instead of creating your own fasting plan.

Which transportation plan should I make?

Transportation plans should account for whether driving after the procedure is appropriate. Arrange a responsible ride when our instructions say you should not drive yourself. Ask about this before the visit, because the answer depends on the planned care and your medical instructions.

Why might medial branch blocks be the wrong fit?

Medial branch blocks may be the wrong fit when symptoms point to a disc, nerve root, or another pain source. Our providers compare your history, examination, and available records before choosing care. Epidural steroid injections or another treatment may better match symptoms linked to nerve irritation.

Do I need a referral before seeing the practice for Medial Branch Blocks?

Most patients can schedule an evaluation without a referral. The initial visit helps our providers review the collision, symptoms, medicines, and records before treatment is considered. Attorneys can also refer clients and coordinate documentation directly with Premier Injury Specialists.

What records should I bring after an auto accident for Medial Branch Blocks?

Accident records, imaging reports, medication lists, and prior treatment notes help us understand your condition. Bring what you have, including documents from other medical visits. Our team reviews the information with your symptoms and records the findings for your treatment plan.
